Swine flu? or just a little 'Ms. Piggy' cold?
2010.01.01 05:28:05

Merry Christmas has come an gone, Carol has been in bed with the flu or something as she  bemoans:

"The closest I can get to my tigers lately is looking at them out of my bedroom window. :-( I'm looking at my girl Shealee laying on her back on top of her house swishing her tail back and forth. Nice.. I'm sure she's wondering where the heck her mom is!! I think I must have the swine flu at this point.."

But as for me, I'm glad that she is getting better by the day and should be as good as new with the beginning of the New Year, So everyone have a Happy and Prosperous New Year!!!

Scuba diving days
2005.07.22 20:33:00
Hope you are having a fun summer and getting relief from the heat and humidity! I have been yearning for our scuba diving days and the beach lately, but these furry children always pull me back into reality. Wouldn't trade this wonderful life. We are surviving at PrideRock and doing our best to keep all the animals cooled off. The tigers stay in their troughs most of the time and the fans and misters are going full blast. I spend lots of time hosing them and myself off as well. ;-) Gary and I have pretty much been on our own as everyone has had a busy summer and the heat is hard to work in. Chivon is celebrating a birthday this weekend and has just recently completed her hours with us and Amy has a new job.

3 days of rain...
2003.09.16 02:14:00
After 3 days of rainy weather the weekend at PrideRock was wonderful, sunny and mild tempratures prevailed. All the cats enjoyed the sunshine as much as the caretakers. Thanks to Betty and Jennifer our Saturday clean up went very quickly and the cats appreciated the attention they were given. We have a number of special projects coming up that will greatly enhance the environment for the cats: one will be replacing flower bed edging around Sophia and Sheale's pen; another will be placing crushed limestone over some of the walkways before winter sets in, and of course Carol is planning beds for wild flowers for the spring.
