PrideRock started in 1985, when we took in an unwanted Siberian Husky, who we named Natasha. In 1993 we received our first big cat, a cougar named Cayman.
In the years that followed, our lives have been gifted by the presence of a series of lions, tigers, mountain lions, Huskies, wolf-hybrid dogs, Akitas and, of course, several dogs of indeterminate origin.
Although the work is hard and the days are long, we love what we do.
Today, PrideRock is home-sweet-home for 7 lions, 13 tigers, 7 cougars, and 7 wolf-dogs, and 13 assorted domestics.
PrideRock Wildlife Refuge seeks to educate and inform the public about the terrible plight of exotic cats kept as household pets, or used in roadside zoos and backyard circuses.
In 1993 we received our first big cat, a cougar named Cayman. He was our introduction to the enormous problem of exotic cats that have been abused, neglected, or abandoned by their owners.
